Back to Nature

Sunday, October 18, 2026 · Ernie Mills

"Nature" is an abstract concept we use to describe what is in essence a profound mystery and wonder. We think of it as trees, rivers, mountains, birds, butterflies and everything outside of ourselves. But nature is within us as well and there is a deep connection between ourselves and the natural world outside of us. For some of us, nature is just another word for God. In this reflection we will explore ways we can reconnect to the wonder and beauty of nature.

The People Right in Front of Us

Sunday, October 4, 2026 · Guest Speaker Angel Freire

"Humanism is, at its core, a practice of presence. A choice to focus on the world we can see, the neighbors we can reach, the suffering we can actually reduce." Fish Stark, Executive Director of the American Humanist Association and a lifelong Unitarian Universalist, celebrates the shared roots of humanism and Unitarian Universalism and invites us to rediscover the radical joy of choosing people over abstractions and outcomes over ideals in a special video presentation. It promises a lively discussion.

I Got My Theology from the Moody Blues

Sunday, September 20, 2026 · Rev. Ernie Mills

“I got my theology from the Moody Blues” I was a Moody Blues fan during my 20’s and the words of their songs made a deep impression on me during those years. And even though I later went off to seminary, my head was full of Moody Blues theology. I never outgrew it. In this reflection I’ll share some of their songs that impacted me the most and how they have stayed with me through the years.
